Richie Tiatia
Youth Worker
I am a values‑driven Youth Mentor passionate about supporting young people to grow, build confidence, and make positive, informed choices. My mahi focuses on walking alongside youth with honesty, empathy, and consistency, creating safe spaces where they feel heard, respected, and empowered.
Keeping it real is central to my practice — genuine kōrero, active listening, and acknowledging the realities our rangatahi face. By building authentic relationships and having open discussions about choices and consequences, I support youth to develop resilience, self‑awareness, and accountability
My commitment to youth work began at 19 through voluntary service as a church youth leader, a role I continue today. Outside of mahi, I’m family‑oriented, enjoy music and sports, and value time with my wife and our four children. These experiences shape my approach and reinforce the importance of strong relationships and positive role modelling.
I remain deeply committed to youth wellbeing and to helping young people grow, learn, and work toward their goals.
