Family Harm Prevention Services

Our Family Harm Prevention service is grounded in a holistic, compassionate approach that places whānau at the centre of every decision and action. We recognise that family harm is rarely a single‑issue experience; it is often intertwined with trauma, stress, substance use, and wider social pressures.

We walk alongside children, parents, and caregivers to promote safety, healing, and long‑term wellbeing through early intervention, prevention, and strengths‑based practice. Our team prioritises building trusting relationships, creating safe spaces for healing, and empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their futures.

By working collaboratively and connecting whānau with wider community resources, we help them navigate challenging circumstances and move toward greater stability, resilience, and lasting positive change. Together, we remain committed to breaking cycles of harm and strengthening the wellbeing of our community.

Social Workers

At the Bream Bay Community Support Trust we offer a calm, confidential space where individuals and whānau can talk through life’s challenges with someone who genuinely listens. Our counsellors support people navigating stress, relationship issues, grief, anxiety, and major life changes, helping them build clarity, resilience, and practical strategies for moving forward.

Through practical assistance, advocacy, and consistent encouragement. they help whānau strengthen routines, access essential services, and build confidence in their own capabilities.

By forming trusting relationships and offering steady, compassionate guidance, our support workers ensure that whānau are heard, valued, and supported at every step. Together, our team remains committed to empowering whānau to create safe, connected, and resilient futures for themselves and their tamariki.
