I acknowledge the moana (sea), the awa (river) and whenua (land) that sustains all who live here. Tena koutou.
Ko Yvonne Kahurangi Ashby ahau. I am a registered Alcohol and Drug Practitioner Dapaanz
(Drug & Alcohol Practitioner Association Aotearoa New Zealand) supporting whānau (families
and individuals) affected by substance related harm.

My role is to create safe, compassionate, and culturally grounded spaces where people from all backgrounds can explore their experiences, reconnect with their strengths, reduce the harms of substance-use and move
toward healing. I bring experience working alongside both Māori and non-Māori communities, weaving tikanga based healing, trauma informed practice, and holistic wellbeing frameworks. I am committed to upholding the mana and tapu (scaredness) of each person and supporting tāngata whaiora to rediscover balance, identity, connection and hope.

Grounded in Te Taiao (the environment), I find wellness in the whenua (land), moana (sea),
ngahere (forest) and whanau (family)— gathering kai, gardening, walking in nature, and holistic
healing practices. These connections shape how I hold space for others and reflect the values of
manaaki (care), aroha (love), and whanaungatanga (connections/relationships) that guide my journey.
