Martine Maoate
Social Worker | Family Support Worker
I was born and raised in Auckland and my Whanau comes from Rarotonga. My role is to support whānau experiencing family harm, helping them navigate referrals, develop safety plans, and access advocacy that strengthens their wellbeing. With a background in social services dating back to 1997, I have spent my career working alongside Police, whānau, and community providers to ensure people feel heard, supported, and empowered. My focus is always on walking alongside clients as they work toward safety, stability, and their own aspirations.
Outside of mahi, I enjoy simple, grounding activities that keep me connected to myself and to the natural world. I enjoy beach walking. I also love making jewellry — the process of creating something with my hands brings me a lot of joy. Meditation is another important part of my life, helping me stay centred and present.
