Dr Kyle Eggleton has been a Board member and the Chairperson of the Bream Bay Community Support Trust since 2020. Kyle is a rural general practitioner working part time in the Hokianga and the Associate Dean of rural health at the University of Auckland. Kyle’s qualifications include a medical degree, master’s degree in medical science and public health and a Doctor of Philosophy in Māori health.
Kyle is a Nova Scotian descendent whose ancestors arrived in Northland on the Breadalbane and the Spray in the 1850’s. Kyle has lived in Ruakākā for 20 years and was a local doctor for most of that time. Kyle is motivated to address issues such as social injustice, racism, poverty and inequities and he believes that communities have the strength to address these issues if they are resourced and supported. Kyle’s hopes and aspirations, as a Bream Bay Community Support Trust member, is that the Trust will be a vibrant centre of the community that helps to facilitate responses to these bigger picture issues
